About the Role
As an OTR truck driver with U.S. Xpress - OTR, you'll operate a tractor-trailer unit hauling 100% no-touch dry van freight across the United States. This is solo driving work with a proven schedule designed to balance consistent miles with meaningful time at home. You'll work 28 days out followed by 5 days home, giving you the predictability that experienced drivers value.
What You'll Do
- Operate your assigned tractor-trailer safely and professionally over long distances
- Transport dry van freight on planned, consistent routes
- Maintain compliance with all DOT and safety regulations
- Manage your vehicle maintenance and perform pre-trip inspections
- Communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery
Compensation & Benefits
- 52–56 cents per mile (based on your experience level)
- Average 2,000 miles per week for solo drivers
- $2,000 sign-on bonus
- Performance bonuses throughout the year
- Top 20% of drivers consistently earn $1,500+ weekly
- Paid vacation time
- Predictable home time and consistent schedule
