Triage Staffing LLC is seeking a skilled Travel Sterile Processing Tech for a 13-week contract assignment in Elizabethtown, KY — a full-time, on-site opportunity paying $978 per week in the heart of Hardin County.

About the Role

This travel contract places you in a fast-paced sterile processing department in Elizabethtown, where you'll keep surgical and clinical instrument supply chains running safely and efficiently. The position runs on a variable rotating schedule — 5 days at 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with shifts covering the 12:00 AM–12:00 PM window. The contract begins ASAP and runs for 13 weeks.

What You'll Do

• Decontaminate, clean, and inspect surgical instruments and reusable medical devices following established infection control protocols
• Assemble, wrap, and package instrument trays and procedure sets according to facility and manufacturer guidelines
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including steam autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers
• Verify sterilization cycle parameters, document results, and maintain accurate processing records
• Conduct quality checks on instruments and trays to identify damage, missing components, or functionality issues before release
• Coordinate with OR and clinical teams to ensure timely instrument availability and turnaround
• Maintain department inventory levels and flag supply needs to supervisory staff
• Uphold all regulatory standards and facility-specific policies related to sterile processing and patient safety

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience in a hospital or surgical center sterile processing or central sterile supply department
• Working knowledge of decontamination procedures, sterilization methodologies, and instrument assembly
• Familiarity with AAMI standards and Joint Commission requirements for sterile processing
• CRCST certification (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or equivalent preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to a new facility environment, as expected of a seasoned travel tech
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety outcomes
• Availability to work a variable rotating shift within the 12:00 AM–12:00 PM time frame
