Travel Oncology Registered Nurse – $2,487 per week

American Traveler is hiring a Travel Oncology Registered Nurse for a full-time assignment in Harahan, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, offering $2,487 per week to deliver compassionate cancer care in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Position Summary

This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment ideal for experienced RNs ready to advance oncology practice. You'll work day shifts on a four-by-ten schedule, providing direct patient care within an established oncology unit. The assignment begins August 5, 2026, and accommodates the travel nursing lifestyle with structured scheduling. One position is currently available.

Core Duties

• Administer chemotherapy and supportive medications following evidence-based protocols and facility standards
• Monitor patients for treatment reactions and side effects throughout care cycles
• Document clinical assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records
• Partner with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams on individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and self-management strategies
• Provide compassionate support to patients and loved ones navigating cancer treatment
• Maintain infection control and safety standards in the clinical environment

What You Bring

• Current RN license valid in Louisiana or active multistate compact license
• One to two years of oncology, acute care, or medical-surgical nursing experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function independently and as a collaborative team member
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• Adaptability and openness to learning facility-specific workflows
