Travel ED/Med-Surg RN

About the Role

This is a full-time travel nursing position based in Dyersville, Dubuque County. As a Travel ED/Med-Surg RN with American Traveler, you will deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department and on medical-surgical units, working day shifts on a three-shift, twelve-hour rotation. The assignment is scheduled to begin on August 2, 2026 and runs for approximately 13 weeks at 36 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to emergency and med-surg patients across the span of an assigned shift
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, escalating changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses, and support staff to coordinate safe, effective care
• Respond calmly and decisively to acute and emergent situations in the ED
• Educate patients and families and support smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Iowa
• Clinical experience in Emergency Department and/or Medical-Surgical nursing
• Willingness to commit to a 13-week travel assignment beginning 08/02/2026
• Availability to work 12-hour day shifts, three shifts per week (36 hours weekly)
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills suited to a fast-paced unit
