Behavioral Health Works is hiring part-time Autism Paraprofessionals in East Los Angeles to provide direct, hands-on support to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder. About the Role
As a Behavior Technician, you'll work one-on-one and in small group settings with autistic children and teens, implementing evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques under the supervision of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). This is direct-care, rewarding work where you'll see real progress and celebrate meaningful wins with families.
What You'll Do
- Deliver structured ABA sessions focusing on communication, social interaction, self-care, and academic readiness
- Use positive reinforcement strategies to teach replacement behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect detailed data on client progress and communicate observations to your supervising BCBA
- Adapt techniques based on individual client needs and treatment plans
- Build strong relationships with clients and their families in the East Los Angeles community
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment during sessions
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED (or willingness to pursue)
- Genuine interest in autism support and behavioral health
- Ability to be patient, calm, and responsive to a child's individual needs
- Strong communication skills and reliability in a part-time schedule
- No prior experience required—we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support
- Open to earning RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification over time
