Translator – Pacific Island Languages

Prisma International, Inc. is seeking a Translator - Pacific Island Languages for a remote contract position based in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while delivering meaningful translation services to Pacific Island language communities.

Position Summary

As a Translator specializing in Pacific Island Languages at Prisma International, Inc., you will provide high-quality translation services that bridge communication gaps between English and Pacific Island language speakers. Working remotely from Honolulu or anywhere, you'll contribute to meaningful cross-cultural exchanges through accurate, nuanced translation work that respects both linguistic and cultural context.

Core Duties

• Translate documents, communications, and materials from English to Pacific Island languages and vice versa
• Ensure cultural appropriateness and linguistic accuracy in all translation deliverables
• Research terminology and maintain consistency across multiple projects and clients
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards for all translation work
• Collaborate with team members to clarify meaning and context where needed
• Document translation decisions and maintain project records as required

What We're Looking For

• Fluency in English and one or more Pacific Island languages (Hawaiian, Samoan, Tongan, Chamorro, or similar)
• Proven experience translating professional or technical content
• Strong command of both written and spoken English in the relevant Pacific Island language
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to cultural sensitivity in all translation work
• Familiarity with translation tools and software is a plus
