Role Overview
As a Khmer Interpreter with Prisma International, Inc., you'll provide professional interpretation services connecting Khmer-speaking individuals with English-speaking professionals and organizations across Washington. Working on a mobile and travel basis, you'll facilitate clear, accurate communication in diverse settings—helping bridge language gaps in healthcare, legal, social services, and community contexts. Your fluency in both Khmer and English, combined with your ability to travel throughout Washington State, makes you essential to the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate, culturally sensitive interpretation between Khmer and English speakers in person and via remote settings
- Travel to client locations throughout Washington State to provide on-site interpretation services as scheduled
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professional standards in all assignments
- Prepare for interpreting sessions and manage logistics for mobile assignments independently
- Document and communicate any interpretation challenges or special needs to the Prisma team
- Support clients from diverse backgrounds with patience and cultural awareness
Qualifications
- Native or professional-level fluency in Khmer and English
- Professional interpretation experience or demonstrated expertise in language services
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for mobile work throughout Washington State
- Strong ability to convey meaning accurately while maintaining tone and intent
- Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality in sensitive situations
- Flexibility to work varied schedules and travel as assignments require
