The Perry Group: Site Construction Manager 1 (Substation – 100% Field)

CDM Smith is seeking a full-time Site Construction Manager 1 to lead substation construction operations in Provo Canyon, Utah County. This is a 100% field-based position with responsibility for managing on-site construction activities, safety compliance, and project delivery.

About the Role

As Site Construction Manager 1 with The Perry Group—a design-build and construction management division of CDM Smith—you'll oversee field operations for substation projects. Working directly on-site in Provo Canyon, you'll coordinate daily construction activities, manage crews and subcontractors, and ensure projects meet schedule and budget requirements while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and coordinate construction activities, crew assignments, and subcontractor performance on-site
• Monitor project schedule, budget, and resource allocation to meet delivery milestones
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications
• Conduct daily site inspections, document progress, and maintain detailed construction records
• Manage material coordination, equipment logistics, and site organization
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and engineering teams on site status and issues
• Enforce quality control standards and resolve construction challenges in the field
• Maintain OSHA compliance and implement safety protocols for all team members

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; construction or related degree preferred
• 3+ years of field construction supervision or site management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, and cost management
• Strong communication and leadership abilities in a dynamic field environment
• Valid driver's license and ability to work 100% on-site
• Physical ability to work outdoors and navigate construction sites
• OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain
• Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office
