About the Role

We're building a stronger litigation practice in Columbia, and we need a paralegal who can manage multiple complex commercial matters simultaneously. You'll own critical case components—from initial client intake and legal research through trial support—while collaborating with attorneys and opposing counsel to meet aggressive timelines. This position offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in commercial dispute resolution while contributing meaningfully to case outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Manage discovery projects including document review, interrogatory responses, and deposition scheduling and preparation
• Conduct legal research on complex commercial law issues and synthesize findings into actionable memoranda
• Organize and maintain case files, evidence databases, and litigation databases with meticulous attention to detail
• Prepare trial materials, witness binders, and exhibits under tight deadlines
• Coordinate between clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal teams to keep cases on track
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents under attorney supervision
• Communicate proactively with clients regarding case status, deadlines, and upcoming proceedings

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of paralegal experience in commercial litigation or complex civil disputes
• Familiarity with litigation support software and e-discovery platforms
• Strong writing and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of information
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems
• Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with attorneys
• South Carolina bar admission or paralegal certification preferred
