Butler America Aerospace is hiring a skilled Technician for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) installation, maintenance, and repair at our Oldsmar, Florida facility. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay based on experience, with flexible shift options to fit your schedule.

About the Role

You'll become a critical part of our aerospace manufacturing operations, supporting the assembly and quality control of advanced electronic components that power aircraft and defense systems. This hands-on technician position blends precision work with equipment operation, quality verification, and systematic troubleshooting in a fast-paced production environment.

What You'll Do

  • Install and solder surface mount components on printed circuit board assemblies using specialized equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of SMT installation and inspection systems
  • Conduct visual and functional testing of assemblies to verify compliance with aerospace quality standards
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair defects in circuit board assemblies and related equipment
  • Document work activities, test results, and equipment performance accurately
  • Follow all established safety protocols, quality procedures, and aerospace regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to continuously improve production processes

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or repairing surface mount technology systems
  • Familiarity with printed circuit board (PCB) assembly processes and quality control methods
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with precision tools and electronic test equipment
  • Ability to read technical documentation, schematics, and work instructions accurately
  • Attention to detail and commitment to meeting strict aerospace quality standards
  • Reliability, punctuality, and readiness to work assigned shifts consistently
  • Experience with automated optical inspection (AOI) systems is a plus
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required

Shift Options

First shift: Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM (four 10-hour days), with overtime opportunities on Fridays or Saturdays as needed. Second shift: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM (four 10-hour days), with occasional overtime. Competitive pay in the $26–$35 range, depending on experience and qualifications.
