Technician, General Facilities Maintenance – Journeyman Plumber (Open)

Walmart is hiring a full-time Journeyman Plumber to manage plumbing systems and facilities maintenance across our Charlotte, Mecklenburg County location. This hands-on technical role combines troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance expertise to keep our facilities running smoothly.

About the Role

As a Technician specializing in General Facilities Maintenance with journeyman-level plumbing credentials, you'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of our commercial plumbing infrastructure. Working within established safety protocols and local/state building codes, you'll diagnose system failures, execute repairs, and perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime and extend asset life.

What You'll Do

• Install, inspect, and repair commercial plumbing systems, pipes, fixtures, and water distribution networks
• Diagnose plumbing failures using specialized tools and systematic troubleshooting methods
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce emergency calls and extend system longevity
• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local building codes and state plumbing regulations
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and material usage
• Coordinate with facilities teams and contractors on complex or multi-system projects
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency plumbing issues in a timely manner

What We're Looking For

• Valid Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent state certification
• Demonstrated expertise in commercial plumbing systems and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of local and state plumbing codes and standards
• Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings
