COOK (FULL TIME)

Compass Group, North America is seeking a dedicated Full‑Time Cook to join the team at the General Mills facility in Medicine Lake, Hennepin County.

About the Role

This position supports daily food service operations by preparing cold dishes, assembling salad bars, and ensuring all items meet strict safety and quality standards. The role operates on a consistent weekday schedule, allowing for a reliable work‑life balance.

What You'll Do

• Prepare cold food items, including salads, sandwiches, and fruit platters, following standardized recipes
• Maintain the salad bar and cold prep stations, ensuring proper portioning, freshness, and presentation
• Monitor food temperatures and storage conditions to comply with HACCP and local health regulations
• Keep work areas clean and sanitized, adhering to kitchen safety protocols and cleaning schedules
• Assist with receiving deliveries, checking product quality, and rotating stock to minimize waste
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates to support smooth service flow
• Participate in training sessions and stay updated on food safety best practices

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in cold food preparation, salad bar assembly, or a similar kitchen role
• Solid understanding of food safety principles, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation
• Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
• Reliability and punctuality for a Monday‑through‑Friday, 5:30 am to 2:00 pm shift
• No requirement for night or weekend work
