Technical Product Manager – AI Investing

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization building next-generation financial products across Southeast Asia. Our client is seeking a Technical Product Manager to own a critical product vertical within their AI-powered financial platform.

This role operates at the intersection of technical design, regulatory compliance, and product strategy. You'll be working on products that handle real money—payments, investments, insurance, and wealth management—where reliability and correctness are non-negotiable.

The position is remote with hybrid expectations: you'll work from the local office at least 3 days per week, with flexibility for remote work on remaining days.

Responsibilities

• Own a product vertical end-to-end, including strategy, metrics, roadmap, priorities, and delivery
• Shape technical design with engineering teams across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability
• Drive trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements, and user experience
• Build regulatory requirements into the product, including KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, and licensing compliance
• Apply AI and LLM capabilities strategically where they improve outcomes, with clear evaluation frameworks, safeguards, and human oversight
• Ship products that navigate external dependencies including regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party integrations
• Align cross-functional teams—Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance—around clear product decisions and launch requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of complex technical products from strategy through production
• Strong technical foundation across system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems
• Experience working closely with engineers, with ability to review, challenge, and contribute to technical designs
• Experience in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or another regulated, high-consequence product domain
• Strong product judgment and ability to make difficult trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints
• Experience building with LLMs or AI products, including evaluation frameworks, reliability patterns, and understanding when AI should not be used
• Strong English communication skills for collaborating across global teams

Preferred:

• Engineering or highly technical product background
• Experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks for ML or LLM-powered products
