Technical Product Lead – AI Neobank

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization building next-generation financial products across Southeast Asia. Our client is seeking a Technical Product Lead - AI Neobank to own a complete product vertical from strategy through launch. This is a hybrid role based in the United Kingdom, requiring at least 3 days per week in the local office.

This position sits at the intersection of technical depth, product strategy, and regulatory complexity. You'll be working on products that move real money—payments, remittance, insurance, wealth management, and trading—where reliability and compliance are non-negotiable. Our client is AI-native by default, but seeks leaders who understand when AI genuinely improves outcomes and when deterministic systems must remain in control.

Responsibilities

• Own a product vertical end-to-end, including strategy, success metrics, roadmap priorities, and delivery timelines
• Shape technical design alongside engineering teams across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability
• Drive critical trade-offs balancing correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements, and user experience
• Build regulatory compliance directly into product features, including KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy controls, and licensing requirements
• Apply AI where it demonstrably improves outcomes, with clear evaluation frameworks, safeguards, human oversight, and failure handling protocols
• Ship products that depend on external factors including regulatory approvals, financial infrastructure, and third-party partnerships
• Align cross-functional teams—Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance—around product decisions and launch readiness

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of product management experience with demonstrated ownership of complex technical products from strategy through production
• Strong technical foundation across system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems
• Proven experience working closely with engineering teams, with the ability to review, challenge, and contribute meaningfully to technical designs
• Background in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or another regulated, high-consequence product domain
• Strong product judgment and ability to make difficult trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints
• Experience building with LLMs or AI products, including evaluation methodologies, reliability engineering, and understanding when AI should not be deployed
• Strong English communication skills for collaboration across global teams

Preferred background:

• Engineering or highly technical product background
• Experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks for ML or LLM-powered products
