Staff Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Paris office. Our client is a fast-growing technology company building AI-powered communication solutions at scale. This is a strategic technical leadership role where you'll drive cross-functional initiatives and set engineering standards across multiple domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, transversal projects autonomously from ideation through completion, starting from high-level problem statements
• Define and communicate technical vision across multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment and knowledge sharing
• Establish and enforce quality standards while driving adoption of best practices in architecture, security, and DevOps
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance as a go-to expert across teams
• Lead technical strategy definition for complex, high-impact problems affecting multiple domains
• Write production-ready code and participate in software design discussions with focus on security, scalability, and performance
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities and advocate for customer needs across the organization
• Develop deep understanding of multiple product domains to anticipate long-term technical needs

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of back-end development experience using TypeScript and Node.js, Python, Ruby/Rails, or similar languages
• Proven ability to lead and define technical strategies with strong system design understanding
• Track record of leading complex projects affecting multiple teams and domains from start to finish
• Expertise in identifying opportunities for new, impactful technical initiatives
• Deep understanding of multiple product domains with ability to anticipate future requirements
• Strong experience delivering solutions focused on security, scalability, availability, and performance
• Effective and proactive communication skills with ability to collaborate across different roles and profiles
• Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and functional areas

Technical environment includes: TypeScript/Node.js, Python, REST/GraphQL APIs, Ruby/Rails, React, AWS/Serverless, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Redis. You don't need familiarity with all technologies, but strong learning aptitude is essential.
