Staff Product Manager – Billing (VAT)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Staff Product Manager to own their Billing product area. This is a mission-critical role where you'll transform complex financial operations into seamless, scalable solutions that directly impact how businesses manage travel spend, VAT reclaims, and accounting automation.

Our client's billing platform enables finance teams to accurately analyze and forecast spend, automate accounting workflows, and trust their financials. Through AI-powered invoice processing and strategic partner integrations, they help customers save thousands in VAT reclaims. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, tax compliance, and AI innovation.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the billing and spend ecosystem, a key pillar of commercial strategy
• Drive high-velocity execution with cross-functional teams, making bold, fast bets informed by customer feedback, data, and market research
• Transform complex challenges—from international tax compliance to AI-powered invoice data extraction—into intuitive user experiences
• Prototype rapidly using modern AI tools to accelerate the product development lifecycle and fast-forward to production-ready products
• Lead the development of solutions that help millions of employees and thousands of finance teams seamlessly manage expenses, cards, and invoice processing
• Stay deeply connected to AI research, industry trends, and emergent applications, applying insights creatively to product development
• Empower your team through servant-leadership, removing distractions and fostering creativity and collaboration
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across engineering, design, and business functions toward common goals

What We're Looking For

• Significant experience as a Product Manager in a technology company with proven capability driving product outcomes
• Working knowledge of accounting reconciliation and finance operations; experience working on tax products is a strong plus
• Strong customer empathy and design thinking, with passion to understand the entire expense lifecycle from spend inception through automated reconciliation to final ERP posting
• Fluency in data-driven product decision making and evaluating prioritization trade-offs
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence small teams of engineers and designers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passion for AI demonstrated through hands-on building, prototyping, or side projects, with current knowledge of research and tools
• Fluency with modern prototyping tools (such as Cursor, Bolt, Claude Code) and comfort with design/collaboration environments like Figma and Git
• Background in development, design, or business roles is a bonus
• Based within commuting distance of London; this is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in-person
