Join Warner Bros. Discovery as a Staff Product Designer for our Newsroom team, based in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. This is a full-time opportunity to lead product design initiatives across a suite of news and content platforms serving millions of users.
About the Role
As Staff Product Designer, Newsroom, you'll operate at the intersection of editorial strategy and user experience design. This is a leadership-level design position where you'll shape how journalists, producers, and newsroom teams interact with their tools, and how audiences discover and consume news across our digital platforms. You'll drive design excellence across multiple products, mentor design team members, and influence product direction through data-informed design decisions.
What You'll Do
- Lead design for newsroom-facing tools and journalist workflows, balancing editorial needs with technical feasibility
- Design user experiences for news platforms and content management systems used by internal teams and external audiences
- Build and maintain design systems that ensure consistency and scalability across newsroom products
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, editors, and stakeholders to define product vision and direction
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and design audits to inform product improvements
- Mentor junior and mid-level designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and continuous learning
- Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of professional product design experience, with 3+ years in a staff-level or senior design leadership role
- Demonstrated expertise designing tools or platforms for newsroom, editorial, or content creation workflows
- Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work and your strategic impact
- Mastery of design software and prototyping tools; familiarity with design systems methodology
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams and translating designs into implementation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present design concepts to cross-functional teams
- Understanding of journalism, media, or news distribution (or quick ability to learn the domain)
