About the Role

As a Senior Designer, Story Design & UX at CNN, you will work at the intersection of editorial storytelling and digital product design. Based in Atlanta, Fulton County, you'll translate complex narratives into clear, engaging, and intuitive experiences across CNN's platforms, helping reporters and editors bring their stories to life for a global audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design story-driven experiences that pair compelling visuals with thoughtful user experience for CNN's digital products.
• Collaborate with editorial, product, and engineering teams to turn reporting into intuitive, reader-friendly interfaces.
• Develop interactive layouts, visual systems, and templates that elevate how stories are told online.
• Champion usability and accessibility so every experience works for a broad and diverse readership.
• Help shape and evolve CNN's design language and storytelling toolkit.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in UX, product, or editorial design, ideally within media, news, or content-rich digital environments.
• A strong portfolio showcasing both visual storytelling and user-centered design thinking.
• Fluency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools.
• The ability to balance creative ambition with editorial deadlines while collaborating across disciplines.
• Comfort working on-site in Atlanta within a fast-paced newsroom culture.
