OLIPOP PBC is hiring a full-time People Operations Generalist in the United States to power the everyday engine of our People team—payroll, benefits, leaves, and HRIS—while helping us build smarter, more scalable processes. If you love turning the operational "nuts and bolts" into something that runs flawlessly, this role is for you.

About the Role

As a People Operations Generalist at OLIPOP PBC, you'll own the core mechanics of our People Ops function and keep them running with precision. Reporting alongside People Team leadership, you'll execute the day-to-day with excellence while spotting chances to improve, refine, and future-proof how we work. This is a hands-on seat for someone who thinks critically, solves creatively, and takes genuine pride in processes that grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run bi-monthly payroll end to end—data changes, reporting, pay-change audits, and full compliance—with zero tolerance for errors.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding so every employee experience is consistent, high-quality, and compliant with each state's laws, automating where it makes sense.
  • Partner with our benefits broker to administer benefits, field employee questions, and support annual open enrollment.
  • Own our ADP HRIS—maintaining flawless data, producing routine and ad-hoc reports, and mastering its capabilities as our needs shift.
  • Drive the administrative side of HRIS transitions: data migration, testing, documentation, and coordination.
  • Coordinate with our leave-management vendor to support leaves of absence, explain policies, collect required forms, and document everything in the HRIS.
  • Administer workers' compensation—filing claims and liaising with employees, managers, and adjusters to keep cases moving and people cared for.
  • Set up and shepherd performance review cycles through each stage in our performance software.
  • Maintain multi-state compliance through accurate records, required filings and registrations, and current regulatory knowledge.
  • Document and evolve HR policies with People Team leadership to keep them clear, compliant, and current.
  • Strengthen and design the processes that let our team scale, bringing forward recommendations for what's next.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of hands-on People Ops/HR operations experience, including direct payroll ownership (multi-state a strong plus).
  • A track record of improving processes—contributing to SOPs, audits, or systems enhancements.
  • Exceptional accuracy under compliance pressure, since payroll leaves no room for mistakes.
  • Self-starting initiative and a collaborative, solutions-first mindset.

About this role & career path

People Ops Generalist roles sit between HR coordinator and HR business partner: strong operators who own systems, compliance basics, and service delivery. Growth paths typically move toward specialist tracks (benefits, talent, ER) or broader HRBP/People Partner scopes.

Build the skills for this role

Prioritize: HRIS accuracy, employment-law basics (U.S.), clear written communication, and calm stakeholder service. Build fluency in onboarding workflows, benefits administration support, and documenting repeatable people processes. No certification list was provided for this posting.

Prepare STAR stories on messy onboarding, conflicting manager requests, confidential issues, and process improvements. Be ready to discuss HRIS tools you’ve used, how you prioritize tickets, and how you’d support a growing CPG/PBC environment without over-promising policy advice.

Strong fit if you like operational HR, enjoy service work, and can stay organized under volume. Less ideal if you want pure strategy-only People Partner work with no systems or admin ownership.
