Special Education Literacy Resource Coach

New Brunswick Public Schools is hiring a Special Education Literacy Resource Coach to join our Student Support Services team. This full-time position is located in the US and offers the opportunity to directly impact student literacy outcomes and academic success in a collaborative school environment.

What This Role Involves

As a Special Education Literacy Resource Coach, you'll serve as a key educator focused on strengthening literacy instruction and student reading proficiency across our schools. Working within the Student Support Services department, you'll collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and school leadership to implement evidence-based literacy strategies and interventions for students with special education needs. Your work will span multiple school settings, including McKinley Bridgeway Academy, where you'll provide direct instruction, coaching, and professional development to help educators deliver high-quality literacy support.

Core Duties

• Deliver targeted literacy instruction and intervention programs for students with diverse learning needs
• Coach and mentor classroom teachers on literacy best practices and differentiated instruction strategies
• Assess student reading levels and progress, using data to inform instruction and measure student outcomes
• Collaborate with special education staff and general education teachers to align literacy goals with IEPs and classroom curriculum
• Support professional development initiatives related to reading instruction and evidence-based literacy practices
• Work across multiple school buildings as assigned by Student Support Services

Qualifications

• Valid state teaching certification or literacy coaching credential
• Demonstrated experience in special education, reading instruction, or literacy coaching
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction and literacy assessment practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple school settings as needed
• Commitment to supporting students with disabilities and using data-driven instructional approaches
