About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity technology company that is experiencing significant growth and scaling its platform to process massive volumes of security data. Our client is a globally recognized organization building cutting-edge solutions in the cyber risk management space.

We're seeking a Software Engineer to join their Product Engineering team in Australia. You'll work across the full stack—building customer-facing features in React and TypeScript, developing Go services that handle security data at scale, and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps everything secure and reliable. You'll ship meaningful work in your first weeks with senior engineering support, and your responsibilities will expand as you demonstrate readiness.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a platform that security teams rely on daily, joining one of 11+ product engineering squads that typically include a product manager, designer, technical lead, and engineers. The technology stack includes React and TypeScript on the front end, Go services with Postgres, running on Kubernetes via Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing features across the React front end and Go backend services
• Own well-scoped work end to end, collaborating with senior engineers for design review and pairing
• Contribute to platform performance and reliability as the system scales
• Participate in code review and technical discussions that shape engineering practices
• Develop expertise in the cybersecurity domain
• Grow toward senior-level responsibilities with structured career progression support
• Work with AI coding tools as part of your standard workflow

What We're Looking For

• Typically 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React
• Production experience with a backend language (our client uses Go)
• Solid relational database skills, particularly with Postgres
• Experience using AI coding tools as part of your development workflow, with the judgment to review and own the output
• Pragmatic approach to technical trade-offs, balancing quality with business needs
• Collaborative mindset focused on product outcomes and customer value

Preferred qualifications:

• Cybersecurity domain experience
• Experience running services on Kubernetes, ideally on Google Cloud Platform
