Site Safety & Health Officer (Knight Const. & Supply)

Knight Companies is hiring a Site Safety & Health Officer for our Deer Park, Spokane County operations. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead safety initiatives with a family-owned, award-winning general contractor specializing in large heavy construction and industrial plant maintenance across Eastern Washington.

About the Role

In this Site Safety & Health Officer position, you'll develop and oversee comprehensive safety programs across active construction projects and facility maintenance operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring our teams work in safe, compliant environments while building a culture where safety is everyone's priority.

What You'll Do

• Create and enforce site-specific safety plans and protocols tailored to project-specific hazards
• Conduct regular safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and training sessions for construction crews
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations; document findings and implement corrective actions
• Verify compliance with OSHA standards, state regulations, and company safety policies
• Perform hazard assessments across multiple job sites and recommend practical control measures
• Maintain safety records, metrics, and documentation for regulatory and internal review
• Partner with project managers and field supervisors to foster proactive safety leadership

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience managing safety in construction, heavy industrial, or similar field environments
• Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and current safety best practices
• Safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent professional credential
• Strong communication and training abilities to educate and motivate diverse field teams
• Ability to identify hazards quickly and develop practical, implementable solutions
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to documentation and detail
• Valid driver's license; willingness to travel between job sites throughout the region
