Position Summary
The Shipping Lead Night Shift role is central to our production operations in Lexington, TN. You'll take responsibility for all outbound shipping during the night shift, directing a team to meet daily shipment targets while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines operational oversight with direct involvement in packaging, labeling, and logistics coordination.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and mentor night shift shipping team members, ensuring consistent performance and professional development
- Coordinate outbound shipments, verifying accuracy of orders before they leave the facility
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate stock rotation to ensure product integrity and compliance
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols and compliance procedures specific to shipping and warehouse operations
- Track shipment metrics, prepare reports, and communicate status to management and production teams
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
- Maintain organized shipping documentation and ensure proper labeling and packing standards
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments simultaneously
- Experience working night shift hours and the flexibility to maintain consistent overnight availability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable
- Knowledge of shipping software, inventory management systems, or warehouse management platforms
- Physical ability to perform duties including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Commitment to safety and quality in all shipping and logistics activities
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional experience in manufacturing or distribution environments is a plus
