Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential professional services firm seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join their growing practice. In this role, you will serve as a trusted business advisor, delivering industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle market clients. You will work directly with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business, having a meaningful impact on the organization's success.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading federal tax compliance and consulting engagements for middle market and multinational clients within specific industry sectors
- Managing client relationships on tax matters, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day questions and strategic planning
- Conducting research on complex tax matters and responding to IRS and other tax authority inquiries
- Consulting on technical matters including corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740
- Coordinating with specialty tax practices on state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and credits and incentives matters
- Managing engagement staffing, billings, collections, and client profitability targets
- Building relationships and leveraging your network to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue opportunities
- Mentoring and developing junior team members, helping them meet their professional goals
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, law, or a similar business degree; master's or advanced degree preferred
- CPA or JD required
- Eight (8)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm
- Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, including mentoring and counseling associates
- Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills
- Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to provide exceptional client service
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise others effectively
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on tax strategies and regulations
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining a big-picture perspective
- Proficiency with tax software and the Microsoft Suite
