Senior Physical Security Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data center infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Physical Security Engineer to provide regional engineering leadership for physical security systems throughout the planning, design, construction, and commissioning lifecycle. This is a remote position where you'll serve as the primary regional engineering authority, ensuring every new facility is designed and deployed in accordance with global physical security standards.

You'll work closely with architects, consultants, system integrators, and infrastructure teams to ensure physical security requirements are incorporated early into project designs and maintained through final delivery.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering designs for compliance with established standards
• Partner with data center infrastructure teams during planning and design development
• Review security consultant designs, shop drawings, and equipment submittals
• Evaluate proposed changes to scope and specifications
• Serve as technical approval authority for physical security design changes
• Support engineering coordination throughout construction phases
• Perform installation quality inspections and milestone walkthroughs
• Support commissioning and operational turnover activities
• Provide technical support during construction and issue resolution
• Serve as the regional technical subject matter expert for physical security design and systems engineering

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• 8+ years of experience leading complex physical security, critical infrastructure, construction, or technology deployment programs
• Experience delivering physical security systems for hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or other large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience managing cross-functional programs involving design, construction, networking, operations, procurement, and customer stakeholders
• Experience coordinating commissioning, operational readiness, and transition to operations
• Experience working with security system integrators, engineering consultants, general contractors, and owner representatives

• ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP)
• Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
• Genetec Security Center Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent (TPM)
• BICSI RCDD
