Senior Manager, Field Engineering

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing cloud infrastructure provider specializing in high-performance computing for AI workloads. Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, Field Engineering to lead a regional team of technical specialists in London. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical go-to-market strategy and build a world-class solutions architecture practice supporting some of the most demanding AI and machine learning deployments globally.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of solutions architects with deep expertise in Kubernetes, high-performance computing, security, networking, and storage systems
• Define and execute the regional technical strategy in partnership with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams
• Serve as executive sponsor for strategic customer accounts, guiding them from initial architecture design through proof-of-concept and full production deployment
• Translate complex AI and infrastructure requirements into scalable, production-ready technical solutions
• Coordinate with capacity management, data center operations, and fleet operations to support demanding AI workloads
• Establish key performance indicators, streamline workflows, and partner with Support to ensure rapid issue resolution and exceptional customer outcomes
• Drive continuous improvement by channeling field feedback into product enhancements and roadmap priorities
• Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning within your team

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 8+ years in solutions architecture, infrastructure engineering, or cloud services, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Proven track record designing and optimizing large-scale cloud-native environments
• Strong expertise in infrastructure frameworks, workload orchestration, performance tuning, and distributed systems
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, networking technologies, security practices, and enterprise storage systems
• Hands-on experience with GPU-based computing and distributed AI/ML workloads at scale (highly desirable)
• Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing technical teams
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration within hyper-growth environments
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer engagement, industry events, and team collaboration
• Must meet export control compliance requirements for access to controlled technical information
