Senior Machine Learning Engineer

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization building proactive applications that bring intelligence to everyday workflows. Our client is focused on creating reliable, long-running AI systems that help users organize their lives with minimal prompting.

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will own critical ML subsystems in production, taking ambiguous problems from concept through to reliable systems operating at scale. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll build core ML infrastructure that powers a production AI product.

Responsibilities

• Build and own ML systems end-to-end: data preparation, training, evaluation, inference, and continuous iteration
• Turn research concepts into production systems that operate reliably at scale
• Debug model failures and system issues using real production signals and telemetry
• Ship iteratively: deliver features, measure outcomes, refine based on data, and repeat
• Work within production constraints including latency, cost, reliability, and safety requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ML features integrate seamlessly into products
• Provide technical mentorship and code review to other ML engineers
• Monitor and maintain robust, scalable training and inference pipelines

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience building and shipping ML systems used by real users in production environments
• Deep understanding of how modern ML models behave in production, including failure modes and edge cases
• Strong production-quality coding skills with systems thinking beyond scripting
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX
• Experience with GPU-based training and inference systems
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, work independently, and drive projects to completion
• Track record of delivering measurable improvements based on real-world signals and user feedback
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Fast learner who improves through iteration and feedback
