About the Role
The City of Arlington is seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Technician to support the maintenance and care of our park facilities. You'll work part time under general supervision, applying your expertise in landscape operations to ensure our parks remain safe, attractive, and well-maintained year-round.
What You'll Do
- Operate and maintain specialized landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, aerators, and irrigation systems
- Perform landscape management tasks including planting, pruning, edging, and turf care
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides following established safety protocols and environmental standards
- Monitor plant health and identify pest or disease issues requiring intervention
- Maintain park grounds to established quality standards and specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
- Follow all safety regulations and proper handling procedures for chemicals and equipment
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or park operations
- Demonstrated ability to operate specialized landscape equipment safely and effectively
- Working knowledge of turf management, plant care, and pest control methods
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable transportation and ability to work a flexible part-time schedule
- Valid driver's license preferred
Compensation
This part-time position offers an hourly wage of $17.09–$21.36 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
