About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Java Developer to join their product development team in Argentina. This is a remote opportunity where you'll contribute across the full development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and technical design through backend development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Our client operates in a mission-critical enterprise environment where reliability, scalability, and performance are paramount. You'll work on systems that support key business operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile setting.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java 7 and Java 8
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and database issues while maintaining code quality standards
- Develop and optimize integrations with Oracle and Progress databases, managing schema deployments through Liquibase
- Contribute to deployment and operations in AWS cloud environments
- Participate in application design and technical architecture discussions to ensure solutions align with business goals
- Integrate applications with external systems and develop scalable APIs and services
- Perform performance tuning and optimization across application and database layers
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to deliver solutions in an agile environment
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of proven backend application development experience using Java 7 and Java 8
- Strong experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle and Progress
- Hands-on knowledge of Liquibase for database version control and deployment management
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise applications in AWS cloud environments
- Solid understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, and application architecture patterns
- Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration
- English proficiency: Upper Intermediate or higher
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas Upstream processes is highly desirable
