Senior Engineer, Storage Services

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential GPU cloud infrastructure company seeking a Senior Engineer, Storage Services to design, build, and operate storage capabilities across their platform. This remote role reports to the VP Storage Services and collaborates with Principal Engineers and senior technical leaders across the engineering organization.

You will be responsible for:

• Building and operating storage services across Block, File, Parallel, and Object storage technologies
• Implementing designs and architectures in partnership with senior engineers to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure storage platforms
• Supporting integration of storage services with compute, networking, and platform tooling to ensure effective interoperability
• Monitoring service health, performance, and capacity across the storage estate
• Troubleshooting incidents, performance issues, and service problems using structured approaches
• Contributing to service reliability through automation, tooling, documentation, and process optimization
• Participating in technical discussions, design reviews, and service improvement initiatives
• Maintaining clear documentation for storage systems, operational procedures, and support processes

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• Background as a Storage Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Platform Engineer, ideally in cloud, hosting, or distributed systems environments
• Good working knowledge of storage concepts and technologies across one or more of Block, File, Parallel, and Object storage
• Experience supporting production infrastructure or platform services with focus on reliability, performance, and operational excellence
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and infrastructure operations
• Experience with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code approaches
• Ability to troubleshoot technical, service, performance, and operational issues methodically
• Understanding of monitoring, observability, and incident response practices in production environments

Additional Qualities:

• Comfort working collaboratively within an engineering team while contributing independently
• Strong attention to detail, practical problem-solving ability, and delivery-oriented mindset
• Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, and platform teams
• Eagerness to deepen expertise in storage platforms, distributed systems, and large-scale infrastructure
• Experience in cloud, AI, HPC, data-intensive, or performance-sensitive environments is advantageous
