Senior Engineer, Design and Modeling

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential aerospace manufacturing organization in their search for a Senior Engineer, Design and Modeling. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced turbomachinery systems while leveraging cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. The position can be remote within the United States, with preference for candidates near facilities in Ohio or Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements
• Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stackups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, and assembly
• Perform quality checks to eliminate interferences and ensure interface requirements are met, managing drawings and models consistent with industry standards for configuration management
• Perform reverse engineering using scan data and creating new part models using parametric modeling techniques
• Ensure product designs follow standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Support design reviews and collaborate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, and system integration
• Participate in research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with advanced manufacturing design
• Initially serve as an individual contributor in a dynamic environment, with growth potential into team leadership as the organization scales
• Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Design from an accredited university
• At least 6 years of experience in design of gas turbine components
• Strong expertise in design software tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or similar platforms
• Experience with handling 3D scan data and creating parametric models based on re-interpreted scan data
• System level CAD model, parametric modeling, and PLM/PDM experience
• Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program execution skills
• Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams
• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
