Senior Cloud Engineer (Hybrid @ Bellevue, WA or Remote @ Florida)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the mobile marketplace space, and our talent team is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud Engineering organization. This is a hybrid role based in Bellevue, WA or remote from Florida.

Our client's Cloud Engineering team maintains and evolves cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, application security, change management, and backend application templates. As a senior member of this team, you will own meaningful pieces of their cloud platform end-to-end—from design through deployment and operation—while helping shape the standards, tooling, and templates that the rest of the engineering organization builds on.

You will work on systems that drive the end-user experience across a multi-account AWS and GCP footprint, own critical infrastructure and platform capabilities, and build templates, pipelines, and tooling that raise productivity and safety for every engineer in the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS and GCP infrastructure with Terraform, optimizing for reliability, security, and cost
• Run and evolve EKS/GKE clusters including upgrades, Envoy/Gloo networking, Helm, and ArgoCD delivery
• Build CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows using GitHub Actions, monorepo tooling, and JFrog Artifactory
• Maintain backend golden templates and shared libraries that the wider organization builds on
• Plan, execute, and de-risk platform migrations including observability, data-store, Kubernetes, and multi-account migrations with rollback strategies
• Own observability in Datadog and participate in on-call rotations
• Remediate CVEs, manage secrets and access controls (Cloudflare/ZTNA, Okta, SSO, Workload Identity Federation), and optimize cloud cost
• Enable AI/ML developer tooling and infrastructure (Amazon Bedrock, AI-assisted workflows)
• Lead design and code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor engineers

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5–8 years in cloud engineering, infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE roles
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Deep, hands-on AWS experience (ideally GCP as well) with EKS/GKE, Lambda, networking, IAM, S3, Kinesis, OpenSearch, Route53
• Strong experience managing infrastructure declaratively with Terraform at scale
• Solid experience with Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), Helm, GitOps (ArgoCD), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
• Experience with modern observability tooling (Datadog or similar) for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, TypeScript, Python, or Go for automation, tooling, and platform development
• Comfort with scripting and SQL
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and mentor other engineers

Preferred:

• Experience with edge and zero-trust networking (Cloudflare, Envoy/Gloo)
• Experience operating data and streaming infrastructure (Kinesis, Flink, Redis/Valkey, Kafka)
• Experience enabling AI/ML infrastructure or developer tooling (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, or LLM-based workflows)
• Experience with security and compliance practices, change management, and incident management at scale
• Experience with GCP Workload Identity Federation and cross-cloud integrations

Pay

The client has indicated a compensation range of $215,000–$240,000 for this position, which includes equity. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and geography. The role is also eligible for comprehensive health insurance, retirement benefits, flexible vacation policy, sick leave, and other benefits.
