Senior Cloud Consultant – Data & AI Engineer (f/m/d, 4-Days-Week), German Speaking

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading AWS consulting partner in München seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant specializing in Data & AI Engineering. Our client operates across multiple European locations and maintains deep expertise in cloud architecture and machine learning solutions. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge generative AI and agentic AI projects while enjoying a 4-day work week structure.

This role requires fluency in German and English, as you'll be working directly with German-speaking clients on complex cloud transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable AWS architectures for data platforms and generative AI / agentic AI solutions from initial architecture workshops through production deployment
• Lead end-to-end project delivery ensuring security, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Make architectural decisions with clear trade-off documentation that enables team collaboration and future development
• Translate business pain points into measurable technical requirements and achievable objectives
• Develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions using AWS Bedrock, agent frameworks, and governance tools like Bedrock AgentCore
• Build agent architectures incorporating tool use, MCP-based integrations, multi-step orchestration, and clearly defined agent scope boundaries
• Implement human-in-the-loop patterns including approval steps, escalation logic, and automated review processes
• Establish evaluation and quality assurance frameworks for LLM and agent systems
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to clients, supporting pre-sales activities and technical workshops
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal standards, best practices, and training development
• Participate in technical pre-sales, project scoping, and statement of work creation

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud, data, software, or ML engineering, including 2+ years with ownership of end-to-end architectures
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services and infrastructure
• Solid experience in data engineering and ETL architecture design
• Proven experience delivering generative AI and agentic AI projects
• Excellent Python programming skills
• Professional proficiency in German (negotiation-level) and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS certifications
• Experience in pre-sales or technical leadership roles
• Background in consulting or client-facing project delivery
• Experience with AWS Connect
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform or similar)
• Experience with LLM customization, fine-tuning, and distillation
• Practical MLOps experience including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Experience with Kafka or streaming technologies
