In this in-office role, you will deliver authoritative legal guidance on complex securities trading and prime brokerage matters, helping clients navigate regulatory compliance and manage legal risk in fast-moving capital markets.
About the Role
As Securities & Prime Brokerage Counsel, you will be the trusted legal advisor to clients operating in securities trading and prime brokerage services. You'll tackle sophisticated legal challenges at the intersection of trading operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Your counsel will directly shape how clients structure their securities businesses and respond to evolving regulatory landscapes.
What You'll Do
- Advise clients on securities law, prime brokerage arrangements, and margin lending regulations
- Provide guidance on regulatory compliance with evolving margin requirements and capital rules
- Review and negotiate prime brokerage agreements and related securities documentation
- Assess legal risks in securities trading operations and recommend mitigation strategies
- Stay current with regulatory changes and communicate their impact to clients
- Collaborate with clients' compliance and operations teams to implement legal recommendations
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor and active admission to a US state bar
- 5+ years of experience in securities law, prime brokerage, or financial services legal practice
- Deep knowledge of margin lending regulations and securities regulatory frameworks
- Strong written and oral communication skills for delivering complex legal advice
- Ability to synthesize regulatory requirements into practical guidance
- Self-directed, detail-oriented approach to legal matters
