Secondary Teacher – Head Boys Cross Country/Track Coach – Memorial High – School Year 2026-2027

Spring Branch ISD seeks an accomplished Secondary Teacher and Head Boys Cross Country/Track Coach for Memorial High School during the 2026-2027 school year. In this full-time role, you'll deliver engaging instruction to secondary students while developing and leading the boys cross country and track programs, preparing athletes for competitive success and personal growth.

Position Summary

This professional-level position combines secondary classroom teaching with head coaching responsibilities for boys cross country and track. You'll work within the Spring Branch Independent School District serving the Memorial High School community, managing 188 instructional days per year while guiding young athletes in two of Texas's most competitive sports. This is an exempt, probationary contract role reporting directly to the building principal.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and teach secondary content aligned with district curriculum standards and learning objectives
• Coach and mentor the boys cross country team during the fall competitive season
• Coach and mentor the boys track team during the spring competitive season
• Implement training programs that develop athletic skills, conditioning, and competition readiness
• Foster student-athlete character development, leadership, and life skills
• Ensure compliance with UIL regulations and district athletic policies
• Maintain athletic equipment, facilities, and safety standards
• Collaborate with school administration and the athletic department on program excellence and student outcomes

Who We're Looking For

• Valid Texas teaching certification in a secondary subject area
• Prior experience coaching cross country or track, or current coaching certification
• Strong knowledge of athlete training principles, distance running development, and track and field technique
• Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and lead high school student-athletes
• Commitment to academic excellence and athletic integrity
• Collaborative approach and strong working relationship with school leadership and staff
• Passion for developing young talent both in the classroom and on the competition course and track
