About the Role

Christus Health is opening a new medical‑surgical telemetry unit on the third floor dedicated to orthopedic care. This full‑time role supports a high‑tempo environment where nurses monitor cardiac telemetry, provide post‑operative care, and attend to a diverse medical‑surgical patient population.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Utilize remote cardiac telemetry monitoring to track cardiac rhythms and respond to alerts.
• Provide postoperative orthopedic care, including wound management, mobility assistance, and pain control.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff to coordinate discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, medication regimens, and self‑care techniques.
• Participate in unit‑based quality improvement initiatives and ongoing telemetry training.

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required (provided if not already held).
• Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience; med/surg or telemetry background preferred.
• Proficiency with cardiac telemetry equipment and interpretation of rhythm strips.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care in a high‑volume setting.
