This full-time position launches in August 2026 and is designed specifically for nursing school graduates ready to begin their professional nursing careers with structured mentorship and comprehensive on-the-job training.

About the Role

The Graduate Nurse Residency program at CHRISTUS Health provides new RNs with a full year of developmental support, clinical education, and hands-on experience in a hospital setting. You'll transition from student nurse to practicing Registered Nurse through a carefully designed curriculum that combines didactic learning with direct patient care under the guidance of experienced preceptors and clinical educators.

What You'll Do

• Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of seasoned nursing staff and preceptors
• Develop core competencies in clinical assessment, medication administration, patient safety, and evidence-based nursing practice
• Participate in residency seminars and educational sessions focused on professional development, critical thinking, and clinical skills
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient outcomes
• Build proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and hospital protocols
• Gradually assume increased responsibility and independence as you progress through the program

What We're Looking For

• Upcoming or recent nursing school graduate ready to sit for or hold RN licensure
• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) in Texas or ability to obtain one
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional nursing practice
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment
