Join UNC Health Care as an RN New Graduate Nurse on our 6 East Flex Unit in Five Points, Wake County. This full-time, twelve-month nurse residency program is designed specifically for newly licensed nurses transitioning into clinical practice.
The Opportunity
The Spring/Summer New Graduate Nurse program at UNC Health Care launches with flexible start dates between May and August 2026, aligned with your graduation and NCLEX examination timeline. As a resident in our structured twelve-month program, you'll receive comprehensive mentorship and coordinated support as you develop clinical skills, build confidence, and establish yourself in professional nursing practice.
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct patient care under the guidance of dedicated nurse preceptors and mentors
- Apply clinical knowledge and foundational nursing skills in real-world patient care settings
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Develop clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management through progressive responsibility
- Participate in structured educational sessions and professional development activities throughout your residency
- Contribute to team-based care delivery and positive unit culture on 6 East
What We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure or successful completion of the NCLEX examination (active license required)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
