About the Role
As an RN in Cardiac Telemetry, you'll apply the nursing process to deliver direct patient care, assess clinical outcomes, and coordinate care across departments. You'll take professional accountability for your assigned patients while upholding the highest standards of patient safety, rights protection, and medical confidentiality. This is hands-on clinical work where your judgment and communication shape patient outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings, identifying dysrhythmias and clinical changes in real time
- Assess patient condition, administer medications and treatments per physician orders, and document care in the electronic health record
- Respond promptly to patient needs, including pain management, comfort measures, and emotional support during acute episodes
- Coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and support services to deliver integrated patient care
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain a safe, clean care environment and ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Evaluate care effectiveness and collaborate with the team to adjust plans as needed
What We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure in the state of work
- Knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias, hemodynamics, and acute care nursing
- Ability to assess rapidly, communicate clearly, and work independently on night shift
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a high-acuity environment
- Compassion, accountability, and commitment to patient-centered care
- Experience in telemetry, medical-surgical, or critical care nursing preferred
