Shift Lead

About the Role

This is a Full Time position that puts you at the heart of store operations. As a Shift Lead, you'll oversee pharmacy and retail locations during opening and closing periods, assuming full operational responsibility when store managers aren't present. You'll be the go-to person ensuring smooth transitions between shifts and maintaining the high standards Walgreens customers expect.

Core Duties

• Manage store opening procedures, including activating all point-of-sale and security systems necessary to begin daily operations
• Execute store closing procedures with attention to cash reconciliation, system shutdown, and facility security
• Receive incoming shipments and authorize access for delivery personnel at designated entry points
• Process merchandise returns to inventory and manage order corrections when discrepancies occur
• Facilitate customer refund requests and process transactions with accuracy and professionalism
• Conduct secure cash handling, including regular deposits to the store safe and providing currency exchange for customer transactions
• Inspect and prepare the sales floor and stockroom to ensure they are organized, fully stocked, and ready to support daily business

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with cash register systems and point-of-sale operations
• Proven ability to manage inventory and merchandise processing
• Comfort with flexibility in retail scheduling, including opening, closing, and evening hours
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in operational tasks
• Customer service experience and professional communication abilities
• Reliability and trustworthiness in handling financial and operational responsibilities
