Retail Cashier

Dickssportinggoods is hiring for a full-time Retail Cashier position at Store0237 in North Dartmouth, MA. You'll be the final touchpoint in our customers' shopping journey, delivering exceptional service at the register and across the store.

What This Role Involves

In this Retail Cashier role at our North Dartmouth location, you'll operate our point-of-sale system with accuracy and professionalism, process customer transactions, and handle payments securely. Beyond the register, you'll be an ambassador for Dickssportinggoods—answering product questions, providing recommendations, and creating the welcoming experience that sets us apart in retail.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Ring sales transactions using the POS system, ensuring accuracy with cash, card, and check payments
• Verify product pricing, apply promotional discounts, and process returns and exchanges
• Greet customers with enthusiasm, offer assistance with product selection, and answer questions about sporting goods
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout station and surrounding sales floor
• Follow loss prevention protocols, cash handling procedures, and company security standards
• Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and inventory management as needed
• Escalate customer concerns to management professionally and courteously
• Contribute to a positive team environment and help achieve store sales goals

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Experience with cash handling, POS systems, or retail customer service
• Strong numerical and mathematical ability
• Excellent communication skills and friendly demeanor
• Attention to detail and commitment to transaction accuracy
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment
• Reliability, punctuality, and scheduling flexibility
• Interest in sports, fitness, or outdoor recreation is a plus
