Research Analyst – Structured Finance (NY)

KBRA (Kroll Bond Rating Agency) is hiring a full-time Research Analyst for Structured Finance in New York, New York to research and analyze asset-backed securities, RMBS, CMBS, and structured credit markets.

Role Overview

As a Research Analyst on KBRA's Structured Finance team, you'll develop market-focused research reports and analytics covering securitized asset markets. You'll work hands-on with structured finance data and participate directly in KBRA's publication pipeline, supporting analysis of ABS, RMBS, CMBS, and structured credit instruments. Based in our New York office, you'll work in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Update and oversee KBRA's Structured Finance Performance Indices and related datasets
• Build, organize, and manage data infrastructure supporting structured finance research
• Draft and assist with research reports across ABS, RMBS, CMBS, and structured credit markets for external publication
• Conduct analysis supporting KBRA's market coverage and intelligence activities
• Travel as needed, approximately 5% per year

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree (any field)
• At least one year of relevant work experience in finance, analysis, or research
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Knowledge of SQL, programming languages, or AI tools (preferred)
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues
• Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting
• Experience with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT (a plus)
