Match Lead

Genius Sports is seeking a full-time Match Lead in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia, to oversee match operations for football and basketball with a focus on precise data capture and accurate event recording.

Position Summary

This full-time position embeds you within Genius Sports' match operations center in Medellín. You'll oversee football and basketball game logistics, supervising the quality and timing of event recordings through our advanced tracking platform. Your leadership maintains operational excellence during matches, coordinates across the operations network, and supports iteration on our capture workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise data capture teams across 1-2 football matches during each shift
• Monitor and record pivotal match moments, including dead-ball sequences and time stoppages
• Validate squad compositions, player rosters, and individual athlete identifications prior to kickoff and during play
• Remain alert during active play, ensuring precision in match-moment documentation
• Participate in match-review sessions, offering actionable input to operational teams and supervisors
• Perform data annotation tasks that enhance platform capability and optimize operational workflows

Qualifications

• Sharp attention to detail, capable of maintaining focus in high-noise, high-distraction environments
• Clear communication abilities, particularly when managing multiple priorities during fast-paced moments
• Ability to make sound judgments rapidly as situations unfold live
• Comfort collaborating across distributed and on-site operations teams
• Dependability and punctuality essential for shift-based roles linked to game schedules
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and productivity platforms such as Excel or Google Sheets
• Self-directed mindset with solid judgment when handling confidential operational information
• Availability of 15–30 hours weekly; individual shifts may extend up to 6 hours and occur at various times, including early mornings and late evenings
• Background leading, coaching, or mentoring team members
• Skill in articulating operational challenges and driving team performance improvements
• Experience with sports operations environments or data capture methodologies
