Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room to join the perioperative team at Saint Vincent Hospital in Southbridge, Worcester County, on a full‑time basis. In this position you will provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures while upholding the highest standards of safety and sterility.

About the Role

As an OR nurse you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure each procedure runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and advocating for the patient’s wellbeing throughout the intraoperative period.

What You'll Do

• Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify consent, allergies, and medical history
• Set up and manage sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for each case
• Act as circulating nurse or scrub nurse, anticipating the needs of the surgical team
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and document care accurately
• Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and hospital safety policies
• Collaborate with postoperative staff to facilitate a smooth handoff and continuity of care

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred
• Preferred certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced operating room environment
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient‑centered care
• Willingness to participate in ongoing education and competency validation
