Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Medical | Days | Part Time

Join Mercy's Medical-Surgical nursing team in Arnold, Jefferson County, and make a direct impact on patient outcomes. We're hiring a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care on our day shift as part of our part-time staffing model.

About the Role

In this position, you'll apply the nursing process to assess, plan, and deliver patient-centered care to a defined group of medical-surgical patients. You'll take professional ownership of patient safety and clinical outcomes, while coordinating seamlessly with physicians, therapists, technicians, and other departments to ensure comprehensive, continuous care. This role requires vigilance in protecting patient privacy and advocating for patient rights throughout the care experience.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough patient assessments using the nursing process and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and wound care according to clinical protocols and physician orders
• Monitor vital signs, patient status, and clinical responses; report changes promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary departments to coordinate discharge planning and specialty services
• Ensure patient confidentiality and document care meticulously in accordance with healthcare regulations
• Evaluate and support the work of nursing assistants and other direct care providers on the unit
• Provide patient and family education to promote understanding and engagement in their care

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in Missouri
• Strong clinical knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and acute care environments
• Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to manage multiple patients, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively
• Commitment to patient advocacy and maintaining professional standards of care
• Flexibility and reliability for a part-time day shift schedule
