Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg

Westways is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical nursing team in Maywood Park, Multnomah County. This is a full-time position offering a 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.

About This Position

We're hiring an RN to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care on our Med Surg unit. You'll work a 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM shift as part of a collaborative healthcare team focused on positive patient outcomes and clinical excellence. This full-time role provides schedule stability with guaranteed weekly hours, giving you the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on patient recovery and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside care and continuous monitoring for medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient conditions, collect vital signs, and evaluate treatment responses
• Administer medications and execute prescribed treatments safely and accurately
• Manage post-operative patient care, dressings, and wound monitoring
• Document clinical assessments and maintain comprehensive, timely medical records
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and transitions of care

What We're Looking For

• Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Valid BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced acute care environment
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork capabilities
