About the Role

Join a dedicated perioperative team at the Jersey Shore Ambulatory Surgery Center, where you will support safe, efficient surgical procedures in a modern outpatient setting. This part‑time role offers the opportunity to work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists while delivering high‑quality patient care.

What You'll Do

• Prepare operating rooms for each case, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
• Assemble and verify the surgical count, maintaining accurate documentation throughout the procedure.
• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgery, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and advocating for patient comfort.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field.
• Participate in time‑outs, safety checks, and postoperative debriefs to uphold best practices and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families on preoperative and postoperative instructions, addressing questions and concerns.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help maintain accreditation standards for the ambulatory surgery center.
• Keep the OR environment clean, organized, and stocked, following infection control protocols.

What We're Looking For

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of New Jersey.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS preferred.
• Minimum of one year of perioperative or operating room nursing experience.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative nursing standards.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to patient safety and continuous learning.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings or weekends as needed for part‑time coverage.
