About the Role
As a CNC Machinist I, you'll operate and maintain CNC lathe equipment while mastering the fundamentals of precision metalworking. SMS Group is committed to developing skilled machinists through hands-on experience and structured advancement.
What You'll Do
- Load and unload workpieces in CNC lathe machines
- Set up and prepare machines for production runs, including alignment and configuration
- Adjust chuck jaws and verify centering for accurate positioning
- Input tool offsets and machine parameters to match drawing requirements
- Perform dimensional inspections and document measurements to maintain quality standards
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
