About the Role

This full-time, on-site Registered Nurse (RN) - Graduate position welcomes both December 2025 and May 2026 nursing graduates who are ready to begin practicing in an acute care setting. As a new graduate RN with Yale New Haven Health, you will be automatically enrolled in our nationally recognized, award-winning Vizient Nurse Residency Program, designed to help early-career nurses build confidence and clinical competence. Every orientation experience is competency-based, preceptor-guided, and grounded in clearly defined criteria so you are never learning alone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care across Med/Surg units at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
  • Apply evidence-based practice while working alongside an assigned preceptor throughout your orientation.
  • Support patients in specialty areas including Cardiac, Float Pool, Neuro, Oncology, Ortho, and Respiratory/Renal units.
  • Progress through structured residency milestones to strengthen your clinical judgment and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Graduating or recently graduated nurse, with December 2025 and May 2026 graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Willingness to complete a competency-based, preceptor-supported residency orientation.
  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care in a Med/Surg setting.
