Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Surgery Center

Windham Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Chestnut Hill, Windham County. This full-time nursing role is central to delivering safe, compassionate perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical environment where clinical excellence and patient outcomes directly reflect your skill and commitment.

About the Role

As an RN in our Ambulatory Surgery Center, you'll provide direct patient care throughout the surgical continuum — from pre-operative assessment through post-operative recovery. Your nursing judgment and technical expertise keep patients safe and comfortable during one of their most vulnerable moments.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, verify surgical site marking, and prepare patients physically and emotionally for procedures
• Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic status during surgery and recovery
• Administer medications and fluids per protocol; maintain IV access and manage medication safety
• Provide compassionate post-operative care and patient education to facilitate safe discharge
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians as a coordinated team
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records

What We're Looking For

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to think critically in dynamic situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a surgical team environment
• Perioperative nursing experience preferred but not required for the right candidate

Scheduling and Availability

This position offers scheduling flexibility aligned with surgical center volume. You'll work variable daily shift times according to the surgical schedule. On-call duties are approximately one day per week, with weekend on-call rotation roughly every three months.
